MoonIQ

Lunar timing, with the astronomy kept honest.

Most lunar apps blur two very different things: astronomy, which is computed and correct to the minute, and folklore, which is centuries of inherited advice that its own authorities disagree about. MoonIQ shows you both — and never lets you mistake one for the other.

What makes it different

The times are real

Moonrise, moonset, sign ingress, void of course and the lunar-day boundary are computed from an ephemeris, not looked up in a table. The lunar day turns at moonrise, not midnight — so most calendar days hold two different readings, and we tell you where the line falls.

Tradition is labelled

Every piece of guidance is marked as what it is: inherited material, quoted to its source. We audited it, and found the tradition's own named authorities contradicting each other on all 29 lunar days. We say so, rather than picking the version that sounds most confident.

“Before 18:33”, not “today”

A verdict that only holds until the afternoon is not a verdict for the day. Guidance carries the window it actually covers — in the app, in the week view, and in the morning notification.

Your own record

Keep a private diary stamped with the lunar day each entry fell on. After a few months it becomes evidence you own, to set against what the tradition claims. It is never sent to a model.
